CNC Machining

Since 1975, Mathy Machine, Inc. has offered a range of computer numerical control (CNC) services from our CNC machining San Diego facility to a diverse customer base. We specialize in tight-tolerance, precision components at competitive prices, with versatile material options to meet your unique needs. Our team delivers precision CNC milling and turning services, along with prototyping, assembly, and production runs, to quickly and efficiently fabricate high-quality parts. Read on to learn about the industries and materials we work with and the benefits of this subtractive manufacturing method.

CNC TURNING SERVICES EXPLAINED

Computer numerical control (CNC) turning is a type of machining, or subtractive manufacturing, that removes excess material from a workpiece to produce its final shape. The workpiece itself is attached to a rotating spindle, which moves and rotates the workpiece against a stationary cutting tool that cuts away material according to the component’s computer-aided design (CAD) file. This manufacturing process usually creates round, cylindrical, or hollow shapes.

Because the process is automated and computer-controlled, CNC turning produces precise, repeatable results every time. Similar to CNC milling, CNC turning is a very fast process that can easily be used to create prototypes and high-volume orders of products.
